WHAT A PASSIONATE GROUP OF LEADERS!
The Design Process is providing the lens for my administrative team to identify the problems that hinder our work in school transformation. Collectively our team is looking at how culture informs instructional excellence, or the lack thereof. Several theories come to mind when looking at this practice that involves culturally relevant teaching. Indirectly this gets at how people treat each other, but on a deeper level it seeks to answer the question how do people connect to each other; more specifically how do teachers connect with their students. While I know there is no silver bullet it is worth going through the PAR cycle as a way to examine and challenge the mindsets that pose barriers for those deep connections between teachers and their students.
